Hello,

I am trying to create dashboards using Power BI and dynamics NAV.

Is there a way to use real time data of dynamics NAV in Power BI ?

but I still find it difficult to get the data I want

PS : I am using Power BI Desktop

Can I create OData from Tables not from queries in Dynmics NAV 2016 ?

Hi Xavim,

Its as simple as configuring NAV Service.

We just need to configure the setting and connect the NAV to POWERBI. The walkthrough is presented in this link. The Developers of PowerBI have done a wonderful work.
I still have faced some problem connecting MADEIRA with POWERBI though.

@Xavim, regarding OData

ODATA web-service only supports PAGE , QUERY as of 2016 Version). I don't see any problem using Page to Access Table. All Basically leads to the Table and its data.

I don't think that is correct.

ODATA webservice in NAV supports PAGE and QUERY - not CODEUNITs.

SOAP webservices in NAV supports PAGE and CODEUNITs.

I don't belive that has changed since NAV 2013 - but ODATA changed from being read only to also support writes at some point. I cannot remember if it was in 2013R2 or 2015...

T tried using pages but most of the times I get this error in Power BI Desktp

"power bi (415) Unsupported Media Type odata"
