Magnetic Media Question

In older versions of NAV, such a 4.0, there was an option called "File Indicator" on the Magnetic Media report. The choices were: "Original", "Replacement" or "Correction".

This option appears to have been removed several versions ago.

My question is, have these options been obsoleted because they're not necessary? In other words, if 1099 corrections are required after the magnetic media file has been submitted, do you just generate and send a new file?

    RE: Magnetic Media Question

As far as I know, when you need to send a corrected 1099 form, you need to indicate "corrected" feature in the provided report (thus in the media file). However it depends what exactly data you had corrected - for example, if there is an error in payee TIN, you need to prepare two files: one "corrected" one with zero values to zero initial report, and then a new one. So I suppose there should be an indication of correction in the file. Unfortunately I'm not that much familiar with the NA localization, and can't tell why it has been removed.
