Hi,

using AX2012 R2 CU8.

My client is using ASP.Net Web application as a shipping company. They basically book shipping order for customer and book the expenses and revenue there. Now they want to integrate Dynamics AX Project Module with ASP.Net Application and want to create project in dynamics AX from web Application(ASP.Net application) when any shipping order is created that I am envisioning.

what are different things that i need to consider?

what kind of adapter i need to use : HTTP ? File system Adapter?

can i use out-of box service for creating projects : "ProjectService" ?

Please give your comments and what would the different things you must consider to achieve this or start this?

    I would refrain from using files. Web service is always better via http or net.tcp adapter (I prefer the latter through custom services).

    You may use the out-of-the-box document services for projects, or could create your own custom AIF service and parse the information sent in yourself from the data contract.

    And the generic article which covers everything:

    Vilmos & Crispin Appreciated your comments.

    @Vilmos: Can you explain why web services are not good with File System Adapter or it is better with HTTP or net.tcp adapter? can you elaborate your words please.

    Any others points that you wanna share with me as perhaps you have a great exposure of Integration areas?

    An ASP.NET application is already web-based since it is a website, and obviously file operations from a website are less preferred compared to a SOAP call against a web service.
