SMTP mail setup for approvals returning error. Help !

HI, Could someone please help? I setup the approvals to use our yahoo mail, i tested the smtp setup in outlook and worked fine, when i test on NAV i get the following error: The SMTP mail system returned the following error : "Failure Sending Mail. Unable to read data from the transport connection; net_io_connectionclosed" I am using Nav 2013 R1 . Thank you

Hi Ram85SG,

Can you capture the SMTP Mail Setup page?

I got smtp mail setup guide in "S-002 Query and Excel Report.pdf" file (section 7) at my OneDrive. May be refer to my OneDrive and Yahoo_Mail_SMTP_Settings can help you!

Hi Suresh,

I got the same error. The only time i get a different error is when i change the port to the second port provided by yahoo. Please have a look at attached.

Hi Ram85SG,

It is funny that almost google searching provide port 465.

Your setup is nearly correct! Just change the port to 587 (as gmail), it (yahoo) works for me! I should update document to remember this :-)

Hi Khoa,

I tried that previously & I got a different error. Please see attached,
I tried 465, 587 with & Without secure connection, Non of the combinations worked.

did you create yahoo account which you are using? a.approvals@yahoo.com

Yes. Created that email for this specific purpose. Tested the email account on outlook and it worked fine.

I am not sure what do you mean by tested on Outlook.

did you try to send mail from other emails to a.approvals? did you receive? and vice versa

Tested on outlook:

Used the smtp settings on Microsoft outlook to confirm mail account is working (sending and receiving)

So Yes, I tried and it is working fine.
