Security roles - access to custoum and nonstandard tables to users without administrative rights

I ask for your help because, in the Quote form I added a field with lookup to the table “languagelocal”.  I assigned the rights “Read” and “Append” in the Security roles “Salesperson”. I as administrator can access the field and select a language, but my users see a padlock and and cannot make changes.

I also have problems with a custom table that is only visible to those with the Security roles “System Administrator”.

Where am I going wrong?

thanks for your help

    Both points are resolved,
I had assigned permissions to tables using a role created by me (custom) but evidently it doesn't work, I modified another existing role “salespearson” and now it works!
    thanks anyway for the support

I set both permissions “Append” and “Append to ”so I don't miss :) on both Quote and Language table:

    Hi,
1....in the Quote form I added a field with lookup to the table “languagelocal”.  I assigned the rights “Read” and “Append” in the Security roles “Salesperson”....
Which entity are your Append right set to?
    --Append Vs. Append To
You should set 'Append' rights in Quote table, and set 'Append' rights in languagelocal table.
2.I also have problems with a custom table that is only visible to those with the Security roles “System Administrator”.
Have you set up custom table permissions in other security roles?
    For example:
    --My custom tables:
Open one role and select show all tables, find it in the Custom tables, or search it directly.

I hope you can mark my answer verified if it answer your question! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
    Regards,
    Leah
