Assembly Could not be loaded prompting for ax install each time client runs

Hi Guys, We have an AX 2012 install location on a server 2012 box. I am very new to AX so be Gentle.

we are publishing the AX client via Citrix using a .USR file.

even when launching the application via RDP. we receive a prompt at each launch to install.

event logs show the below, I have tried raising this with the support company who are performing the project. however they kind of insist its a citrix side issue but I am more leaning towards it's missing the Files from the \\Include folder on the AOS.

Could not load assembly 'ButtonGrid, Version=6.3.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies.

Could not load assembly 'DataAccess, Version=6.3.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies.

Could not load assembly 'NativeProtocol, Version=4.1.1.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=446593d519c6a29c, processorArchitecture=MSIL' or one of its dependencies.

Could not load assembly 'ReportDesign, Version=6.3.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies.

Could not load assembly 'RetailControls, Version=5.3.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies.

Could not load assembly 'Microsoft.Dynamics.Retail.TillLayoutDesigner, Version=6.3.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies.

Could not load assembly 'SystemSettings, Version=6.3.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies.

Could not load assembly 'TillLayoutDesigner, Version=6.3.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies.

Could not load assembly 'Microsoft.Dynamics.Retail.StoreConnect.TransAutomClient, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35, processorArchitecture=AMD64' or one of its dependencies.

Could not load assembly 'TransformAXIntegrator, Version=4.1.1.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=446593d519c6a29c, processorArchitecture=MSIL' or one of its dependencies.

The description for Event ID 1 from source Dynamics cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

MSFTInternal was not found, return = 2

I can see a number of Assemblies be created in my appdata\local\microsoft ax\ folder but these alerts keep on plaguing us.

Can any one assist.

remember you may need to explain it to me like I am 5.

You need to install the client bits onto the RDS citrix server as well......during install there is a bunch of option to check.....1 of them is to install the client, which is default checked so that when you install AX it installs both the server and client bits......

When you go through citrix you are using a proxy server to run the client on your local machine.......similar to remote desktop apps via Microsoft......without using citrix can you RDP directly onto the AX AOS environment and open client there? if so then you just need to install the client on the citrix RDS terminal and that way users who run client from there will work.....

Hi Brian, I have the client installed directly on the 2008 r2 citrix boxes and the aos is installed on a backend 2012 r2 box. we run a published .USR which is mapped through to users session via command line.

if I run the ax client on the backend aos 2012r2 box the same events occur on that box as well.

The messages you are seeing in Event Viewer (most of them) you get them all the time when you open the AX client on a machine where you have all the basic components installed. You are missing some roles in AX, but that is not an issue. So, that's not the real problem.

However, it seems like the AX client is not properly installed (install complete) and it wants to complete the install, on the Citrix at least. Do you get the same install message on the RDP as well? If you do, have you tried to uninstall the client and then reinstall it on the TS machine?
