Hi All,

We are trying to trigger emails to our customers based on calculated fields (number of days remaining to their appointment date) in real-time marketing. Here we are able to perform this operation in segment-based journeys but the campaign manager wants to do this by using Trigger-based journeys.

Is it possible to achieve below things by using Trigger-based journeys in Real-time marketing:
  1. Triggers based on calculated field. (Ex: Emails should be triggered on 5,3,1days before the appointment day, Here the number of days to appointment is calculated field. will the trigger work on calculated fields)
  2. Control over the time emails are sent out (customer only wants to send the emails during business working hours EX: Mon-Fri 9-6:30 )
Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,

Regarding your first question, we conducted tests. The results demonstrated that triggers are applicable to calculated fields.
The procedure of the test is as follows:
    Step 1. Select a trigger.

    Step 2. Add conditions

    1. Add the calculated field.

    1. Configure the value of the Calculated field to be equal to 1, meaning that the number of days remaining to the appointment date is 1.

    1. Similarly, add two more conditions and set them equal to 3 and 5.Select the Match any option.

Step 3. Add the Send an email action to the journey, select an email, save and publish it.

Step 4. Verify the test results.
    1. Create 3 contacts, and configure the appointment days field as 1, 3, and 5.

    1. Enter the journey and click Total flow, check who the email was sent to.

    1. The email was sent to the 3 contacts that match the conditions.

I hope my answer is helpful to you! If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.

    Best Regards,
    Dengliang Li
