Reporting as Finished Production Order Registration

Hello,

When reporting as finished production orders sometime the good quantity is populated and sometimes it isn't.

When it isn't, I have to register the inventory first. It happens to various items, some which have route card journals some which don't. I don't have to register the inventory on every production order.

I need to understand why I need to register the inventory with some production orders but not with others. This is causing problems for our end users who don't know how to do it who then run into errors.

    Look at the item model group for the product you are making on your production order, it sounds like the "Registration Requirements" flag is checked.  Go to Inventory Mgmt -> Setup -> Inventory -> Item Model Groups -> Physical Update -> Registration Requirement. 

    You should ask why this flag is checked before you un-check it, as there could be a valid business reason for registration.

    As Colby said... This is most likely the inventory model group parameters. Could you try and look at if this is a common theme?
