Could you provide more information? Window notes? Record notes? OLE notes? What modules? Is this happening for all new notes you create or just old ones? Very hard to troubleshoot this type of issue through the forums. You may want to open a support case so an engineer can look at this further.

    Hi Jonathan,

This has got to be the Note Fix utility that was previously supported by the professional services group. It is supposed to look for duplicate record notes, but has not worked properly for a couple of GP releases. It used to be a very good tool, but it is no longer any help. It would be great if it could be fixed. It is for sure not working as intended. I gave up on it but I would love for it to be fixed.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

The tool hasn't changed in many released Leslie and neither have note indexes. What issues are you guys running into?

    RE: Note Index Issue

    Hi Carlos,

You may be able to fix the highest Note Index value by running the script listed in this KB article:

    support.microsoft.com/.../cross-linked-or-incorrect-notes-indexes-in-microsoft-dynamics-gp-f5ba5ed8-f881-2d6a-7f5f-513491e177c6

Be aware that "This will not correct note indexes that are already incorrect."

but it will prevent the problem to become a bigger issue.

The tools to fix the Notes Index used to be on the Customer Source... I need to lookup the link, if it still exists..
