I have a tier 1 environment and need to use data events.

Do data events require a connection with Power Platform?
Is it possible to run Data Events in Tier 1?

If both answers are yes, can someone point me to how to set up Power Platform on Tier 1..cant seem to find any documentation about it.

Thanks

    Hi Norbert,

Yes, data events require a connection of the environment with the Power Platform: Data events - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn
Yes, you can setup a Power Platform connection with a development environment, but only during the creation of the VM. There is no option to link an environment afterwards: Enable Power Platform Integration - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn

We can enable Power Platform while deploying D365FO environment. For existing F&O environment, check if this article helps.

    Thanks

Is there a technical reason why this is so? If I want to send an event, say Customer Created in a service bus..why does it need power platform?

Also why can't power platform be connected after deployment? Seems very locked to me..is it because you also need dual write?

I did this by deploying a new cloud-hosted environment and selecting the option to also deploy a power platform environment with it.

But if you refresh the tier 1 environment with a db from tier 2 or higher it will break the data events and it's unfixable according to the MS Support engineer... The only option is to not refresh the environment then it will work, but that renders the environment pretty useless.
