Account number for transaction type Inventory inter-unit receivable does not exist

Hi All

I am having problems posting transfer order between two sites

Inventory management > Outbound orders > Transfer order

When I ok ship transfer order, I get the following error message

"Account number for transaction type Inventory inter-unit receivable does not exist"

I then found I needed to setup Inventory inter-unit receivable and Inventory inter-unit payable

General ledger > Posting setup > Accounts for automatic transactions

However when going back and posting I am still getting the same error.

Hope someone can help.

Thanks

    Hi Sharon1,

This is a quite old thread.

Have you been able to get this resolved in the meantime?

From what you write I would suggest that you check the inter-unit accounts in the inventory module under setup - posting - posting. In the inventory tab there is a specific section that holds those inter-unit accounts.

Would be great if you could Keep up updated here whether some additional support is required.

    Many thanks and best regards,

    Ludwig

There is an explanation what these posting types are for here:

    technet.microsoft.com/.../aa575515.aspx

But, for me, the answer to 'Why do I need to set these up?' is 'because it won't work if I don't'. I find that AX requires these posting types even if it will not make any financial posting (i.e. even when transferring inventory between storage dimensions which are not enabled for financial inventory).
