Dear All

My Client has a requirement, he wants to set customer base margin for items, I know Trade Agreements can be used to set customer base prices for item but in that case we have to set Sales Prices, my client want to set Sales Margin %, E.g. I want to charge 10% Margin from Customer A and 15% Margin from Customer B.

How to achieve this un AX-2009?

Thanks

Regards

Muhamamd Saad

    Hi,

If you are giving the customer 10% off on every item that you sell.  You will need to take off 10% of that sales price per item and load them into trade agreements per customer.

    Hey Bob

Thanks for your reply, actually I m not giving 10% off to customer, I want to add 10% profit margin to current cost of item (which is different every time due to landed cost factor), how can I define profit % in Trade agreements?

For Eample today I bought item A which cost me $10 now I want to set this thing is AX that I want to charge 10% profit margin to Customer A then Suggested Sell price for Customer A would be $11, similarly next time I bought item A this time it costs me $12, so suggested sell price this time would be $13.2 ans so on.

    Regards

    Hi Muhammad,

I'm wondering if you ever solved this?  My client is on AX 2012, but I have the same question.

    Thanks!

Have you ever looked at the 'Sales price model'? Possibly it will work if you set that to 'Charges percentage' and set the field 'Charges percentage' to a value of 10.00, representing 10% charges.

Please also see this information regarding Sales price model: technet.microsoft.com/.../aa569699.aspx

Please let me know if this solves your question. Best regards, Dennis

I would like to suggest what Kent suggested. I would elaborate so that it will explain how a simple workaround could address this issue.

AX does not allow sales margins to be defined by a customer. So to address this look at the problem from the other way around!. Define a base sales price on the item. It must be the Maximum retail/Sales price. Then define the customer specific sale price discount trade agreement.

Hence rather than applying margins by customer, you would apply discounts on the maximum margin to adjust to the margin applicable for a customer. This is a standard business process.
