How do you change a deduction card on 401K that is not checked with SUTA

Posted on by 60

I have a deduction card that has been setup wrong for 3 employees and we have ran a payroll already.  This card is on 401K and the state tax should be marked sheltered.  How can you change it as it is stating that a payroll has been ran and won't let me do anything on the card?  Can a powerusers change it?

Thank you

    Hi Shirley,

Power users cannot change it either. The way folks normally handle it from the user interface is to create a new deduction code and set it up properly.

Though not advised, I have had clients open the UPR00500 in SQL and change the values of the checkboxes. In your case, you would change the value of the field SHFRSTTX to 1.

This would only change it for a specific employee, it would not change the company settings.

There's more to it if you are using Human Resources, just doing this is not advisable.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
