Issue 2 - Can't edit an opportunity - That is not true!!!

There is no way to update an opportunity that has been closed. I can prove this is not true, and I can give you the steps to replicate my issue and explain how I have fixed it. I hope Microsoft's team fixs it on its end.

Scenario: you have the same opportunity open in two browsers:

Now, you close as won one of the browsers:

finally, go to the other browser, and update information, and click on Save....

How is this possible? why there is no check on save that the statecode is equal to 0 to allow the saving?

this is the code I make to prevent when I force the onsave, but I wonder if Microsoft's team can do better than me

getOpportunityState_fm makes a synchronous call to the webapi to get the latest status of the record, and if it is open (0), then it allows it to save /update the changes

I have the same question (0)

I think what you are trying to do seems to be bit unusual way for sale person to operate on an opportunity.
Why would opportunity owner open opportunity in 2 different tabs to work on?

When you load the form, it gets loaded in current state on client side, so at this moment its not really able to understand what update happened on the server side.

Yes, ideally on save it should recheck some critical validations like the one you mentioned, but unfortunately system may not have been designed that way currently.

You are right that the same salesperson might not have two browsers open at the same time. But what if a sales manager is checking the Opportunity, and the salesperson closes it as won, but the manager fixes something and clicks on save?

What if you have a process where multiple people check the status of their areas in the opportunity and, while checking, the sales rep closes it as won?

That scenario is possible (at least in our company), and I am just saying, please check if you can save before saving. It is a valid statement what you say at the end; systems might not have been designing to work like that.

But they can be changed, and I am using their webapi to prove it can be done. I am not a Microsoft employee, but I know they are way more intelligent than me :)

Regardless I still have this problem, and so do you!!!

@Amit Katariya007, thanks for your suggestion.

Unfortunately for me, I am not using a plugin I am creating.

This is Microsoft Core Code, and so far they are not willing to share it with me so I can improve it to match their statement that the Opportunity can not be modify after it is being closed.

I know they are working on it, or so I have been told in multiple follow-up emails I have received.
