RE: How to reset a Word Template
Hello Richard,
With your Template issue, how is it opening? Is it opening in a word document still? Is it opening in a web browser?
If it is opening in a web browser, then the XML on the template is likely not matching the XML on your template. In this scenario, i would guess some made a change to the report but did not bring the XML over to the template.
If your template is modified, and someone made changes to it, there is no way to revert back unless you have a backup of the template. You would need to remodify the template to match your report if it these are modified.
If the report and template are not modified, check to verify that your template is set to default and your report is set to use non modified.
- Template.
- Administration >> Reports >> Template Maintenance
- Report Name = Report in question.
- Be sure to select the modified/non modified depending on what you are printing.
- Test both the modified and non modified versions to determine if the core version works.
- NOTE, the Security for the report needs to match your template. So modified report and modified template. etx.
- Report.
- This is based on the user who is printing. Drill back from the User Security to determine which one is being printed.
- Administration >> Setup >> System >> User Security
- Select the user.
- Select the Company.
- Click the Alternate/Modified Forms and Reports Hyperlink at the bottom of the window to open the Alternate/Modified Forms and Reports.
- In this window, select the following:
- Product = All Products.
- Type = Reports.
- Series = Module for the Template in question.
- Expand Purchasing Folder.
- Expand the report.
- Is this set to modified to default?
- Test between modified and non modified to see if there is a difference.
- If the core works, then look at your modifications and try adding the XML to the template from the report.
I hope this helps!
