Hello,

Every time we try to set a work order to an existing resource requirement we got this error:

Business Process Error

Work Order cannot be changed on existing resource requirement.

Why is this restriction ?,. The association works when the resource requirement is created.

Thanks

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Yojan,

For each Work Order there will be a Resource Requirement created by the system. Resource Requirement has a lookup to Work Order. If the Resource Requirement exist means, it is already tagged to a Work Order. So, adding existing Resource Requirement is not a good idea and system won't allow you to do that. Better you create a one for the Work Order.

Thank you for the answer Charan.

    Got it, it makes sense.

Sorry Charan, that is not entirely true. There is a 1 to many relationship between work orders and requirements, and there can be multiple requirements for one work order. for example if you need 2 technicians for one work order or one technician and a piece of equipment. The system does handle that, however, you shouldn't try to assign existing requirements to different work orders. You can create an additional requirement if needed for an existing work order as mentioned in my example.

Dian is 100% correct.  You shouldn't try to reassign a resource requirement, BUT you can have multiple resource requirements per work order.

I think my last statement is confusing. I mean to say create Resource Requirement record (‘create’ a one) instead of adding existing. Please correct me if any other statement is not correct.
