(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 1,535

Duration of some processes in Dynamics 2009 takes more than 90 seconds. When I call this processes from Enterprise Portal, after 90 seconds, occur an error:

"Microsoft Dynamics AX Enterprise Portal: The request timed out. Please try to resubmit the request."

Any idea to solve the problem?

    Is this a 404 error?

You can extend in the web.config the time for a request to time out. But more likely something else is wrong since a request should not time out. For instance a bug or a an operation taking too much time.

Any got a solution about this? The error gives the pop-up message with header "Message from web page" containing something like "Micrososft Dynamics AX Enterpirse Portal: Timeout during request. Please try again."

Records are generated in AX, even if the request times out in the portal, so it seams like it's got something to do with a web server timeout. The timeout is exacly 90 seconds, even if executionTimeout is changed in the web.config.

Check the windows event viewer and have a look at the application errors, you should get some more info in there about what the problem is.

You might want to change the connection timeout in IIS, the default is 120 seconds.

Go to IIS Admin Console, then Properties of the Website and right on the Web site tab there is a connection timeout, set it as required.

I do agree with the other users in that there must be something wrong with your configuration as 90 second is too long for a request. Is it supposed to take that long? Are you doing a lot of processing that warrants this much time?

     Good Luck!

There`re no errors in event viewer when time out occure. Changing connection timeout properties on the website takes no effect. :-(

Yes, the timeout ocurrs when large requests is made. When creating smaller ones, no timeout occurs. Even though the default 120 seconds is smaller than 90 seconds, I have set the timeout to 5 seconds and still no change. I haven't tried to restart the whole server after changes are made, but I can't see any reason for that.

You probably want to increase the timeout not reduce it.  Try setting it at 900 (15 mins) to test your transaction.  Also do an IISRESET /noforce from the commandline to restart IIS after you make the change.

I changed value to 200, but after 90 seconds I have the same error "Microsoft Dynamics AX Enterprise Portal: The request timed out. Please try to resubmit the request."

It must be another parameter ... but where ???

    Oh, sorry to hear that.

You may want to try increasing the Retry Interval, take a look at this documentation:

Good Luck and let me know if it helps!

Are you using SSL and access the EP outside?

I haven't got the issue in AX EP but got a similar one in normal MOSS portal.
