Production WIP report

ReportReport
Posted on by

Hello,

Under Inventory Module, Manufacturing WIP report shows only lists of Inventory items issued to Production that have still not ended. Under Cost management module, there are three reports available to display a) Maerials in Progress b) Work in Progress and c) Indirect costs in Progress.

Report under Inventory module displays only cost and details of Inventory items. However, the reports under Cost management display all details including those where the Production order has been "Reported as Finished" but not yet Ended.

Therefore, we are unable to use actual Manufacturing WIP with GL. Actual manufacturing WIP consists of a) Materials issued for production where this may have RAF but not yet ended (as reduced by the value of items reported as Finished already), b) labour costs charged to WIP GL account as reduced by cost of labour moved to Finsihed goods when Production order has been reported as Finished and c)Indirect costs of items charged to WIP GL account as reduced by Indirect costs moved to Finished goods when the items where Reported as Finished. Example below:

Materials issued- $1000, Direct labour $100, Indirect costs $50-Total costs $1,150.

Production order reported as finished and value moved from WIP account is, say $1090 (say being the standard cost of finished goods manufactured). If I were to run a WIP report from any of the modules, I would like to see the amount showing $60 (being the difference between $1,150 spend minus $1,090 reported as finished). This will be moved to Variance accounts when we End the Production order. Is there a report available to show this list for all production orders?

There is a Production WIP statement for each production order under Manage costs tab, but if this statement can summarise for all production orders, that would be ideal.

Thanks
