You define wich salutation to apply  by choosing it in the Word-Layout:

    Hi Vishwas,

If you have access to a NAV database that has a CRONUS USA / CRONUS International / CRONUS India company, you can always look to that for help on how this table and others are populated (they have good demo data).

You would first create a list of Salutation codes and Descriptions, and then the Salutation Formulas page would show a Formal and an Informal salutation type for one or more languages (blank language is the default, and other languages would be defined using the 3 letter ISO code for the language, such as ENU for English - United States).

The Salutation field would contain how your communication would begin. For instance, a Formal communication for a Female contact may begin with Dear Ms. First Name Middle Name Surname. This would be shown as:

    Dear Ms. %1 %2 %3,

in the Salutation field, and from the dropdowns in Name 1, Name 2 and Name 3 fields, you would select First Name, Middle Name, and Surame. Other values in the drop downs include Job Title, Initials, and Company Name.

If you don't want to use any of those and just have it use a generic Dear Madam, then that is what you would type in the Salutation field.

You would then repeat the process for Informal Salutation type, and for other languages (Formal and Informal) if applicable.

For your benefit, here is a screenshot from my demonstration company, CRONUS USA, Inc.

I hope this helps. If my response has answered your question, please verify by clicking Yes next to "Did this answer your question?"
