Hi,

I am interested to know how to set up a price group for prospects since it is using for majority of my quotations. Currently i am using "All" account type to effect the price for prospects but i need not effect to these prices to some group of clients. Can i have a best suggestion on this?

I think you might have found a pretty clear gap here... I doubt prospect would work with price agreements and I clearly see the benefit. However, you normally won't have a price agreement with a prospect, so I wouldn't hold my breath for a feature update...

Not an impossible task for customization. I would estimate a week or so from design to roll out.

    Good luck.

Price groups applies to retail normally  and I see no reason you cannot create category called prospect and assign a price group to it.

    technet.microsoft.com/.../hh597133.aspx

Even if you don't run a retail store you can still enable the retail functionality.

    For price agreements.

Will you treat all prospects the same?

Why will they not fit into the same price groups as other similar  customers?

Why not set up an item price agreement, to be used as the list price for all prospects?

    Hi Dear,

Basically i need to keep a separate price for associated clients which is also a part of my customer list. i made a price group called "associates" for these clients to add it and rest of the customers made "all" in the price agreement. here it is working fine but i want to make sure if any of the item doesn't have the price in "associates" price group then it wont apply the price for "all". then i thought rather than making "all" a separate group for "customers" been created and add it. but here the prospects are not applying the price until give the price for "all".

I don't mind to treat all the prospects same.

I am not clear whether you are discussing price groups or price agreements and whether this is for a retail operation.

Typically prospects are to do with B2B sales starting with a quotation, rather than a retail B2C pos sale for which associates and price groups typically apply.

You can create a price agreement/trade agreement for items independent of a trading partner.  You can also create price agreements for specific customer groups, or specific individual customers. That seems to be what you are asking.

Yes, i can create the price agreement in three way for account type "table", "group" and "all". if i give "all" it is applicable for all quotations including prospects where as if i am giving any group it is not applicable for prospects. As i explained above i am not able to give "all" since it is covering my associated customers also (in case any of the item doesn't have the price in "associates" price group), that is why i am looking for a price group for prospects to effect in the quotation.

I don't see why that it is a problem for both your Prospects and your Associates to access the All pricing -  if the Associates don't have a price defined then they isn't that list price the fallback they will take? Otherwise you will enter a manual price or update the Price Agreement?

What about trying a different tack.

Create a dummy customer much as you would create a walk-in customer for Retail.

(You can still hold each prospect  separately as a Business relation with relevant contact details etc.)

Maybe use a Customer id of QUOTATION.

Most of the customer master fields can be left blank.

Update each sales order header with the relevant details for the specific prospect.

Now that 'customer' can have its own agreement for every inquiry.

Once they place an order  - make them a customer and copy the quote.

As other user said it's not allowed to do that. What we did was change a line of code in \Forms\SalesQuotationTable\checkEnableDiscount in order to allow the user to select the right price group so the prices will then load correctly. Don't know if that's what you're looking for but did the trick for me as it allowed me to create a Prospect price group and apply it to the Sales Quotation.
