Hi All,

I have installed AX 2012 R3 which is extremely slow. Following are the server hardware details,

AOS server,

Processor:   Intel Xeon E5620 2.4 GHz (2 processors)

RAM: 8 GB

OS: 64 Bit Windows Server 2012 R2.

DB Server:

Processor: Intel Xeon E5620 2.4 GHz (4 processors)

RAM: 12 GB

OS: 64-bit Windows server 2008 R2.

We also have separate AX 2009 AOS which is accessing the same DB server. Please let me know how can we improve the performance

I had a problem like this before with windows server 2012.

If you installed it on Hyper-v, don't make the RAM Dynamic.

    this may help

According to System Requirement Document for Dynamics Ax 2012 R3, recommended Ram is 14 GB. Please Update the AOS server to 14 GB.

    Hi Zeeshan

From my experience, the principal factors about performance, are network and disks.

Also, you have virtualized or physical environments ?

AX 2012 is for sure more "heavy" than AX 2009.

So, which type of disks you are using ?

What is the network speed connection ?

Can you provide more details ?

Finally take a look to this post, blogs.msdn.com/.../nuevos-recursos-para-problemas-de-performance.aspx that have many interesting link.

First thing you should consider increasing the RAM of AOS server

8GB is very low, consider it at least 16GB

Please verify and update us with your findings

    It is a virtual environment.

We have now planned to increase the AOS RAM. and create a new DB server with sql server 2014. The current DB server also contains AX 2009 DB and seems like sql server resource are more used by AX 2009 AOS.

    Hi Syed,

It would be useful to monitor the machines  to find the bottleneck. Is it e.g. disk or memory? The memory is an easy guess, but I have seen issued caused by many other causes. Note that also e.g. a virus scanner can cause performance issues.
