my Ax Client and BusinessConnectior not on same version.

Hi Everyone

I have try to search on thee www without luck..

My AX client are running 6.3.1000.601 (same as the AOS), and when i look at my server with buinessConnector it is running 6.3.164.0, and when i try to update it, they are no checkbox to upgrade, So my question is that ok, to have diffrence version on client and BC.

    Are you trying to install the hotfix for latest kernel version?

    Right now i  just want to know if they are a BC on version  6.3.1000.601, I would like to avoid any upgrade of kernel on aos at the momment.

    Hi Kenenth,

    Yes indeed, every binary packages contains the same version for standard client, bc and aos.

    But this seems to be an R3 / CU8 issue.

    You can't install CU8 clients >6.3.1000.309 without having ReportViewer 2012 runtime installed.

    Maybe this is the cause with the business connector too?

    Do you have an standard client Ax32.Exe installed on the AOS itself?

    If yes: Is this  6.3.1000.601? or is this client also on 6.3.164.x ??

    If i look at the AOS the AOS is 6.3.1000.601, if i look at the client on the server AX32.exe it is 6.3.1000.601, if i look under BC axclg.exe it say 6.3.164

    Hi Kenneth,

    AxCliCfg.Exe is the setup utility. This seems to be unchanges since R3 RTM. Even the business connectornet.dll seems to be unchanged (its a wrapper for the real Bc client dlls)

    Microsoft.Dynamics.Ax.ManagedInterop[Core].Dll

    can you have a look at these versions (of both dlls)

    should be same as your client/aos 6.3.1000.601

    I have exactly the same situation as you descriced with binary versdion 6.3.1000.2347

    even here the config tool and the wrapper dll (historcal purpose) stay on RTM
