I have this requirement that on the Contact form my client wishes to see all Activities that are related to Cases that are related to the Contact.
So, again we have the 'dreaded second level subgrid'.
The really nice possiblity that is described by (amongst others) Dian on Nested Grids in Dynamics 365 – Dynamics 365 Talk (d365goddess.com) won't work (probably) because the lookup on Activity isn't only to Case, but also to Contact, Account and so on.
I guess that messes this up, because there's no Nested Grid Parent ID field to be found that ties the Activity to Case.
Quick View Forms won't work either, because we're moving the other way around: looking for child records instead of parents.
Any other bright ideas or (for me) new insights to enable this quest?

The easiest way is to use an HTML web resource with a Fetch XML query and populate the table.
The second option is the PC control.
