NAV 2013 + CRM Online + Office 365

Posted on by 125

Hi forum,

I wonder if it is possible to go for an "all-in" on the online strategy, having 2013 hosted (is MS going to do this - like CRM online + office 365 - or is this only for partners?)

Thus, having NAV 2013 hosted somewhere and having Office 365 (some E plan may be required?) and having the CRM Online hosted and connected with NAV 2013 via the CRM Connector?

I would happily go for an "all hosted by MS" scenario but is willing to go for a partner solution or partly partner solution if that is the only possible scenario.

What are the components needed, how do I get those and what is the pricing?

Hope to hear from you soon.

PS. NAV 2009 is the current installation.

Regards

Henrik

    Hi Henrik,

This summer we'll launch 365Suite.Marketing launch during WPC. NAV+CRM+O365 out of the box. All in the "cloud", seamless integrated, single sign-on, single invoice. Send an e-mail to info@365suite.com and we'll keep you updated.

    Cheers,

    Herman

    Hi Magnus,

    Thanks for your valuable input.

As for number 1. if think I saw a post (from MS) on how to get Office 365 to work with (integrate) with CRM Online. And also a post (from MS) on getting NAV 2013 and CRM Online to integrate with the Connector. I don't know if those will interfere with each other - all three together.

As for number 2. Well the "CRM" in NAV 2013 isn't that complete as the CRM Online I guess. The pricing I found so far is (in GBP) NAV 2013: 35,00, CRM: 29,00 and Office 365 (midsize business edition - with desktop versions of the Office suite): 10,00

    That is 35 + 29 +10 = 74/month for the suite (NAV+CRM+Office 365)

If you go for all users having access to Office 365 and

the administration/financial having access to NAV and

the sales force having access to CRM it is not that much I guess.

Company is structured in such a way that very few (if any) have access to both NAV and CRM - typically it would either be one or the other.

    It will be 35 + 10 = 45 for the administration/financial worker and 29 + 10 = 39 for the sales force worker.

But again, what you said about bringing the pieces together makes an impact on me.. Maybe this is just a year or two too early. I don't know. The idea just came into my mind.

    Anyone else to elaborate?

    Hi NPLIMA,

I understand what you say here, but also what Magnus say (see below). It seems like MS is having (or beginning to have) a set of very useful online services. But they somehow do not seem to work together - yet - or at least it is not that straight forward to get it to work.

    Thanks for your input.

    Hi Henrik,

I have had your same ideas but my experiences are the MS are not at the point yet where the solution you are describing is a useful one. A couple of the reasons not to do what you describe is:

    1. Lack of out of the box functionality. As I see it right now, there are not enough out of the box functionality for NAV, CRM and O365 to smoothly work together. I think you have enough work with using two of three to be honest.

    2. Price and overlap. When you are speaking of an "all cloud" solution, I expect that you are a small to midsized company. Having both CRM and NAV is both quite costly and it has quite a big overlap in my view. Especiall, if you already use NAV I would not recommend you also buy CRM, unless you are a very big company (and then you probably wouldn't be interested in the all cloud solution at this point).

I think what NPLIMA suggests could be an answer but I think we are kind of saying the same thing. MS is not really there yet but if you really want it to work, with the right partner you can do it yourself. For NAV, having looked at the roadmap here (http://www.insync.co.in/overview-of-microsoft-dynamics-nav-roadmap/) it looks like NAV 9 will be the version where they try to tie it all together.

If you are Swedish and want to pursue the all cloud angle, I can send you info on partners that I have worked with that I think will can help you.

    Regards,

    Magnus

Yes, with a slight twist. My company has been involved in this kind of setup and we've found that it will work much better if you host CRM and NAV 2013 in the same servers rather than using a "pure cloud" setup.

So you'll need VMs for NAV, CRM, and SQL server. This can be hosted and license can be subscription-based.
