What is the impact of not creating a lead for events?

Hello partners,

When I create a new event, there is a toggle option on the event record to prevent the automatic generation of leads for that event. My assumption is that if there are any new contacts who register for the event, D365 will still create new contact and account records for them.

My question is, what are the potential risks or negative consequences of choosing not to create a lead for an event? Even without leads, I can still view the activity of contacts who have registered for the event in their respective contact and account records.

Regarding event leads, we typically perform a mass disqualification process anyway.

I would greatly appreciate any insights or advice on this matter.

Thanks.
