Project Beginning Balance

I would like two feed beginning balance for a time & material project. When i look into action pan 'Beginning Balance' options seems disabled. Also when i try to enter beginning balance journal (project Management & accounting -> Journals -> Beginning Balance Journal), i am getting error message  'Project stage In process does not allow recording in this project'.

So please let me know How to feed project opening balance.. and why it is disabled in action pan..Any settings required?

    Hi,

    Check you parameters:

    Go to "Project management and accounting parameters". Select at left menu "Project stage". Above the grid there is a button "Project stage rules". Check the settings of "Create beginning balances" per project type. If this one is unticked, you get this error message.

    Thanks Mr. Andre for your reply.. It solved my problem.. Another thing i want to clarify is if i use a beginning balance journal will it affect ledgers? If yes, is there any settings to avoid affecting ledger balance

    Hi,

    The beginning balance journal is designed for entering the beginning transactions without affecting the ledger. So you can enter transactions WITHOUT updating your ledger.

    This is namely because of conversions where transactions were posted and not invoiced yet or for determing your Percentage of Completion on already started projects.
