Nav 2009 to Nav 2015 data upgrade fails

Hi,

Upgrading from 2009 to 2015 all works ok until data upgrade step, fails with the following:

Codeunit : 104055

FunctionName : StartUpgrade

State : FailedPendingResume

Error : A call to System.Data.SQLCient.SQLCommand.ExecuteNonQuery failed with this message: Incorrect syntax near '*'

I think this has something to do with dimensions - I have made sure that all the ledger entry dimensions match the associated tables - I found some postings where the global dimensions in the main table did not have an associated entry in the dimension entry and corrected these, but still get the error.

Anyone offer any help?

in first step upgrade to nav2013. there is a lots of documentation about that step. the documentations contain also the dimension topic.

    after that upgrade to nav2015.

    Hi Rajasekhar.Y,

This was indeed the problem - the company name was 'XYZ **LIVE**'

I first removed the * from the company name, but then got an error re incorect syntax near 'XYZ' - I found that I also had to remove the space from the company name, making it 'XYZ_LIVE' and the upgrade then ran through fine.

Many thanks for your help with this.

    Regards,

Hi, today the dataupgrade finished after running aft 87 hours (7 GB database on vm ware with 8 gb ram). In NAV it is the same error message as before. But I have the error "The connection to SQL server was lost" in my windows logfile. On SQL server logfile there is no error shown. Does anybody have an idea what might cause the problem?
