Hi, I'm facing problem entering text into report. Each time a text was entered, it will automatically change to string missing. I wonder, what could have cause of this problem. Thanks :')
I find the most frustrating (misunderstood) parts of modifying GP reports is that it is a SINGLE USER tool. That means that NO ONE should be in GP while a user is in Report Writer modifying a shared reports dictionary.
If you are the only one in GP while modifying the report, try putting the text field in a one of the other sections, save the report, exit GP. Launch GP. Does the text show? If so, move it to the proper section, save the report, exit GP. Launch GP. Does it still show?
If the text doesn't show in either of these situations, I think you need to recreate the reports dictionary.
I would agree with Lisa that the Custom reports dictionary should be recreated.
When you first create a custom reports dictionary, the strings from the application dictionary are copied into the reports dictionary and then you can change or add strings.
