RT Form Failures + Consent Center/Compliance ProfileChallenges + Power Automate

Posted on by 54
Hey Everyone -

Lately we've been seeing a lot of issues with the basics in realtime marketing. I'm curious to know if other people are having the same issue or could this be something due to what we do internally.

1) Our realtime forms are no longer creating leads /Error while creating target entity./-  We can see the form submission failure with the captured values but a lead is not created and the submission is labeled as /failed/. When we create new forms, the issue still happens. Due to this we can't create leads with the proper consent fields in place. This means no automated journeys for leads. Unable to see a pattern in why these fail and our ms ticket is just sitting with no resolution.

2) We see an error called /Consent submission processing failed./ - which we thought went away, so this is the second run of seeing this bug. I've not yet been able to catch the pattern of why this error happens with our contact forms. Everything should be straight forward and we get how these forms should work. But even opening tickets with support makes you feel hopeless sometimes. How can these basic/core features not work and then not provide clear direction on how to fix? I had to add the new consent fields and the form passed the content check. The last time it resolved itself.

3) With the new purpose/compliance profile updates, our automated journeys have suffered.  Why would MS push this consent change without understanding it could break/stop marketing efforts for people using the platform. This change has pushed project timelines back and caused a lot of stress. Not only did we have to update all of our forms for the new purpose field...but our power automate flows have been impacted too. As of now - I cannot find the new purpose field in the dataverse connector within power automate. Which means none of these contacts or leads can have their consent updated, so no automated emails will be sent out. These people would all end up in the block list as no consent. I run a restrictive model to be safe over our sends... but now I feel forced to change our stance. Not to mention this had impacted us for over a month. Anyone seeing anything similar?

I get the same error for lead form submissions. "Error while updating target entity". I am using the non-restrictive model and the newsletter signup template that is included, also followed the steps suggested by Megan Walker but still the submisssios fail.

I was able to resolve the issue by clearing the cache and cookies stored in my Chrome browser. I also tested in Edge, and it submitted fine

    Hey,

We're having the same issues with our realtime emails - I'm tempted to just go back to outbound because I'm so frustrated with this issue. We've also seen that some leads will occasionally get emails, then occasionally won't. We also have this problem in outbound with Contacts... it seems like this system is sort of a mess. If anyone has a fix that worked for them please let me know! We're working with our IT team to find a long-lasting solution.

    1) I get a similar error message "Error while updating target entity." when a form submission results in a contact update.

    3) I had to change the compliance settings to a non restrictive model in order to make marketing emails work.
