Invalid collation when converting a database

(0) ShareShare

Hi!

Connecting to an old database with NAV2009 R2 classic client (6.00.33046).

I get the message that the database must be converted. Ok.

Then an error is displayed: "Invalid collation SQL_SwedishStd_Pref_CP1_CI_AI'.

Must collation be changed to a windows collation?

Why?

Best regards,

Fredrik Gustafsson

    Thanks for the answer.

I know this is new requirements for NAV2013R2. But this is NAV2009R2 and I am just trying to apply a hotfix upgrading runtime from 6.00.32384 to 6.00.33046. It was unexpected to be forced to change collation at the same time.

    Regards Fredrik

    hi,

    look at this post

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh168530(v=nav.71).aspx  (NAV 2009)

    ....

"Upgrades to the newest Windows collation. Utilizing SQL collations for the database is no longer supported in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2. If your database has been using a SQL collation, or an out-of-date Windows collation, the development environment will offer to perform a collation upgrade alongside the Unicode upgrade"
