Hi everybody, in the recent days we've had some problems with our AX2012R3 and the Citrix server farm.

We have install the client with the data import export framework tools included.

Start it seems good and from the Citrix interface the users could be enter in AX

Problem: when we generates a template for this machine following the Citrix step the new machine go in boot loop without possibility to start normal.

After various test we're quite sure that's the problem it's about the client.

Kindly do you have had similar error or problem?

Do anyone know if exists a specification Citrix version about AX2012R3

Thanks to everybody

Daniele.

Hi Dick, as you and your users we're in the same situation (only difference the R3 version).

We've observe mainly slowness when we load client and basic list page (example saleslistpage...)

Question for all : use the –roamingprofile command open AX could be a possible workaround?

Someone could post a effective link how to setup it?

    Hi Daniele.

    Andre,

I am currently trying to fix reported slowness of our 2012R2 AX on Citrix XenApp 6.5

Can you elaborate on what you or your users consider slow?

    Kind regards,

    Dick Visser

    Ciao Daniele

From my knowledge, does not exist any Microsoft documentation about AX installation on Citrix.

Also, from my point of view, your issue isn't related to the AX Client.

Nevertheless, as workaround, you can clone a clean VM and install AX plus Dixf in a second moment using a silent setup

    Hi Daniele,

I'm not a system administrator. I can't help you with the comparison or solution. From my experience, I'm just not a fan of AX/Citrix combination. I believe Citrix and Microsoft RDS are both good products for a terminal solution.

Thanks Umesh but the problem in my configuration is to understand what version of Citrix it's full compatible with the AX2012R3 client and if there's some hint or precaution to have for avoid performance or stability issue.

    thanks anyway for your help

    RE: AX2012R3 and Citrix enviroment

    thanks André for quickly answer.

"generates template" means that we do a clone of the machine using the vmware tecnologies when the machine is shutdown.

Our problem it's that only the combination Citrix+Ax2012R3 seems having incompatibility: for example our old AX 4.0 enviroment or AX2009 doesn't have this type of problem.

About your references to terminal services solution I understand as you say: only a question we think that the terminal service enviroment could be, with a good probability, better than Citrix enviroment? Overall related to performance and stability?

    thanks again, Daniele.

    RE: AX2012R3 and Citrix enviroment

    Hi Daniele,

I don't think Microsoft itself does test AX on Citrix. They have the Terminal services solution. I have seen some issues using Citrix where some functionkeys are not working in AX. Instead a Citrix action is executed.

I'm not a fan of the combination Citrix/AX.

What do you exaclty mean with "generates a template for this machine"?

One of my customers is running Citrix and AX 2012 R2 with CU7. It is a bit slow, and besides the function keys it is working.
