Installation of Microsoft NAV 2017 (or 2016)

Dear all,

I have a problem with the installation of Dynamics NAV 2017 (and same with 2016) on Windows 10 Pro (without avtive directory).

If I install the demo or the server I have the same issue : Windows Installer: Error: Service 'Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server [DynamicsNAV90]' (MicrosoftDynamicsNavServer$DynamicsNAV90) failed to start.  Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.

And the install stop.

And If I try to install only the server, at the end the install soft delete the installation of nav.

Could you help me ?

Thank's.

Kind regards

If you look closely, one of the things the error message says (near the top) is: "Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."

You did not state at what stage you get the error (you can install component by component to get a better idea of where you're getting the error message).

But I suspect that it's one of two things:

    1. Your user does not have sufficient privileges. Try to run the NAV installer with Admin privileges by right-clicking Setup.exe and choosing "Run as Administrator". This, of course, means that you must have administrative privileges (or access to admin credentials).
    2. The user account that you identified/selected in setup to run the NAV Service with (by default, it is the Network Service account, but you may have selected a different user account) does not have the "Log on as a Service" privilege. You can correct this by launching the Local Security Policy console in Windows, then going to Local Policies > User Rights Assignment > then right clicking on "Log on as a service" and selecting "Properties". Use the "Add User or Group" option to add the User account that will be used to run the NAV Service, click OK.

You can then try reinstalling NAV (but it may be a good idea to try uninstalling any partially installed components, restarting the computer you're trying to install NAV on, and then trying again).

I hope this helps. If my response has answered your question, please verify by clicking Yes next to "Did this answer your question?"

Thank's for your answer AJ Ansari. And excuse me for my late response.

I work under windows 10 pro and I think the problem comes from that. Do I need to install or activate something ? I don't have active directory or domain user.

Thank's again and have a nice day
