    For Win8 Application you need to understand architecture of Dynamics AX 2012 Mobile application development

    Please download following pdf file

    www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

    to develop Win8 Mobile application we need to utilize the Window Azure services and Windows Active Directory Federation Services

    Hi,

    Understand the need to use Azure and ADFS. But I don't know what this  "services Framework" can do? It is like  a component  that need to download into Visual Studio 2012. Is this Services Framework used to communicate with AX on the Server-side via Azure.  I could not find any info on how to use it.  Is this services framework a library?

    Thanks

    Service framework is the utility in Dynamics which will help you expose WCF services which can be utilized to access logic specified in dynamics AX.

    this is the basics of the mobile application architecture.

    I think you are on the right track to understand that it will be used to communicate with AX on the Server-side via Azure.

    May be if you will download the Dynamics AX mobile application doc from the link I forwarded you earlier

    will help you understand more.

    This Application Integration Framework utilizes X++ to create WCF services and it bit easy to configure.

    Please verify and let me know if you need more details.

    Thank for the info. However, I am newbie and need more help.

    At the Cloud and Server-side:

     Win8 App  <----------->  internet <---------> Cloud

    - Azure SDK   Azure Platform / IaaS

     |

     |--->( Service Framework) --> AX

    On Client, I have Azure SDK

    On Cloud,  I have .Net Backend for My Win8 App

    I have these questions on Services Framework:

    1) Is it some kind of Library like .Net BackEnd to connect to AX?

    2) "Service framework is the utility in Dynamics which will help you expose WCF services which can be utilized to access logic specified in dynamics AX."

    Can you provide me the link to read about this service Framework.

    I think Service Framework is not the same as AIF.

    3) Can I use the Service Framework to do the CRUD operation on the Sales Header/Transaction Line

    like this traditional Web Service approach for CRUD:

    WinRT <-------------------internet -------------> AX

    Service reference  AIF/ Web Service

    3) Can Service Framework work with .Net Business Connector?

    Thanks

    As per my understanding Service Framework what you are talking is same as Application Integration Framework.

    Please review below recommended Dynamics AX Mobile Application Architecture

    For more details please refer to the link which I forwarded you earlier.

    Please verify and update if this information is helpful to you.
