Our customer has been using GP attachments for over a year and today none of them can view an existing attachment or attach something new. If they try to view one they get "Unable to preview this attachment". If they try to add one they get "A save operation on table 'coAttachMSTR' has created a duplicate key".
I saw this many times with GP15, but this is an existing GP18R2 customer. We tested with a regular user, a new test user and the 'sa' user. All of them can view and attach on the GP SQL server, but none of them (including 'sa') can view or attach from any client machine. I have asked their I.T. dept to let us know if there have been any recent Windows updates to try and roll back but have not heard back yet. I am wondering if others are having this issue. Or If this is a known issue.
I appreciate you anticipated guidance!
Althea
Good news - there was one .Net patch available for 1903, they installed it and rebooted and now they can view and add attachments! Thank you for replying so quick!
Just tested and only the machines with the Windows 10 1903 update have this issue. Can anyone from Microsoft test this please?
Hi Nattis - yes - all clients and the server used the same client install pkg file, so same ODBC. Their I.T. dept said client machines had just installed the 1903 update for Windows 10 and they cannot roll back. They have one machine with GP that has not had that update yet so when that user is in they are going to test. But we believe it is due to this 1903 update. Not sure who to put the incident with - GP or Windows 10....
Althea,
ODBC for the GP SQL Server and Client Machine are same?
