How to set the visibility of "Export to PDF" or Print of Quote to its status (Active)

Hello team,

I want to be able to make the "Export to PDF" or Print function button appeared on the Quote only when that quote has an "Active Status" not draft. This is to prevent the sales people to just print the quote when its submitted and not wait for the review and the approval.

Thank you for your help and suppot.

    Hi Patrick,

In general, you can use ribbon workbench to show or hide specific button.

Ribbon button visibility based on a field value in Dynamics 365 | Ribbon Workbench | D365 Demystified

Now you can use Command Checker to find the button command.

In quote view, at the end of the URL we must include the command "&ribbondebug=true" as shown in the image below:

Note that the page will be updated and the Command Checker button will be displayed, so we can debug the commands associated with the buttons, solution layers and their respective rules:

Note that the actual command for the Export to PDF button is Mscrm.Form.PDFCommand, this command was not visible in the Workbench 2016 tool.

So I think your only remedy is to go into the XML itself and manually customize the Enable or Display rules applied against the button.

For more detailed information, you can refer following link:

Thank you but The Command Check only help to "Check Command". You can't really modify anything unless you touch the XML and I an trying not to. Can you help to access the Ribbon workbench too?

    Hi Patrick

The Command Checker only help you find the command of the button.

As I mentioned above, the actual command for the Export to PDF button is Mscrm.Form.PDFCommand, this command was not visible in the Workbench 2016 tool.

And only remedy is to go into the XML, there seems to be no other way currently.
