In the D365 F&O merged infrastructure, can I make the custom fields (within the HR module) that I created as a end user, available to other users as well? and are these custom fields as good as a standard out of the box field? Can i export and import data into it? Can i pull it out in reports etc.?
For example, you could create a custom field in Worker table "Vegetarian" or "Favourite colour". These fields would be available for other users and would export to e.g. Excel.
Thank you @Simon. So this means that i need to involve a technical to make the custom field more useful? What would be the use cases for adding the custom field as an end user (say HR Manager), how can i leverage this personalization feature without the involvement of a technical?
Yes, as a user, you can make custom fields to a limited extent. You can now also code customisations. If you want to use DMF for new fields, you will need to add them to an entity, so you will need to code that.
