Update to 10.0.23(10.0.1037.84) keeps failing

I setup a new D365 F&O instance early this week with 10.0.23 (10.0.1037.53) version.

Later noticed an update available - 10.0.23 (10.0.1037.84). Tried updating to this version, which keeps failing repeatedly.

Although the progress shows all steps completed successfully - 73/73 steps completed - the status always ends up in 'Failed' state - 

Servicing this environment has failed. Please click the Resume button to retry the failed operation.
There's nothing useful in the logs too. Plus, the update takes literally 6-7 hours.
Appreciate any help.

    Hi Vinod,

    Is this a development or UAT environment? Is the application working despite the failed state? When there are no steps with an error, I can imagine that indeed the logs might not have additional information for you. You can contact Microsoft Support as they could have a look at what exactly might causing this.

    Hi Andre Arnaud de Calavon , this is a Dev environment. Yes, the application is working fine.

    I have seen a couple of updated with 10.0.23 where installation of DevTools somehow breaks Visual Studio. You can check by just opening VS on the machine.

    In these cases I have aborted the update, repaired VS from the VS installer, updated DevTools manually and restarted the LCS update.

    Hi Vinod,

    Please raise a support ticket on LCS for Microsoft get better assistance.

    Such issue can have several potential root causes. In our case it was related to version of VS that was not compatible with PU.
