Hello Adnane Dalhi,
Do you refer to a credit note related to an ordinary sales order or a credit note transaction that has been created e.g. through a free text invoice or even a general ledger journal?
Assuming that a credit note for an ordinary sales order has been created, take a look at the cust invoice jour table and whether you can find all data there you are looking for.
Best regards,
Ludwig
Hi Ludwig Reinhard.
Thanks a lot for your answer, in fact im looking to get the Customer credit note created for Customer Open invoice ( i don't know if this is funcationally correct or not, i have only technical background).
I will be grateful, if you share with me more details please :)
Thanks a lot
Hello Adnane,
I see. Can you check the custtrans and custtransopen tables.
The open credit note should be there.
Hi Ludwig,
Thank for your reply, but where i can find for example the Credit note type. or the reason of the creation of this Credit note.
Thanks.
Hi Adnane,
For the transaction type you could use the TransType field, and also the invoice field or voucher field as I am assuming you have set up different invoice numbers for credits compared to invoices, and different voucher sequences depending on the origin of the transaction.
Hi Taran, thank you for your answer.
Can you correct to me please if i'm wrong.
Generally and if i well undestrand, we can't create customer credit note for Open invoice as a whole, but we have to go back to the original Customer sales order, and there we create our credit note. ( IF the answer is Yes)
How can i know, i mean which table i can find the number of the (credit note) and the Reason?
Thanks in advance :)
Hi,
There is no standard functionality that would enforce you enter a description or a reason why a credit note was created. It depends on how this process is setup in your company and what has been agreed upon. Some companies simply record a note in the document attachment form while others require a workflow and prior approval before a credit note can be created. It really depends. Maybe ask in your finance or sales department how they usually handle credit notes.
Best regards
What you suggested was correct, however as Ludwig has pointed out there isn't a way as standard to see the reason. This does depend on the business process.
However to get more information, you could view the line descriptions of invoices by using the table "CustInvoiceLine", you can use the recid to link this to "CustTrans" or "CustInvoiceTable".
Using CustInvoiceLine you can see each line description on the credit notes, and dependent on business process, they may have entered the reason.
Hi, Ludwig thanks a lot for your answer, really appreciate.
Totally agree with you, i will ask directly the finance department, that's better, cause i found different ways of treating a customer credit note.
Hi Taran, appreciate so much,
i will check the 2 tables for sure, and as you suggest it's better also the ask finance departement, maybe the answer can be there :-D
Thanks a lot misters :)
