GeneralJournalAccountEntry Document date

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello ,

Document Date Queries

Kindly please help me with the below queries,

  1. If the document date from GeneralJournalAccountEntry table is 1900-01-01 then does that mean it is an open transaction ?? The same transaction does have an accounting date.
  2. How to identify if a transaction is Open or Closed in the GeneralJournalAccountEntry table.

  3. For some transactions there are no Document Number, is Document Number a mandatory field in GeneralJournalAccountEntry table

No. It usually means that no document date has been entered when posting the transaction.

The GeneralJournalAccountEntry table is not enough to identify if a transaction is open or closed.

You rather need to check the subledger transactions related for example in the custtrans or vendtrans tables

There you can find information on settlements that have been made and based on that you can calculate the open amount.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
