Using sales category on sales order rather than items

If the customer do not sell real physical items from warehouses, but more like "type of trades/fees" then I suppose it can be relevant to use sales categories rather than item numbers (like categories on purchase orders).

Which benefits / limits  / disadvantages do you see by using sales categories rather than item numbers on sales orders ?

    Hi Daxer,

An important part is the option to use trade agreements. If there are items that do have standard sales prices and/or trade agreements per customer, the real item would probably preferable.

If you sell items that are different every time the category would be a good option.

Also note that using categories the reports like customer/item statistics are not working.

    What do you mean with:

"If you sell items that are different every time the category would be a good option."

    Hi André,

Did you clarify Daxer's last question?

    Thanks
