Multi threading on SSRS Report like Customer Account Statement

ReportReport

Hi All,

How can I convert a standard SSRS Report like Customer Account Statement (where different report is generated for each customer) into multi-threading so that individual customer's report runs in parallel. I understand multi-threading can be implemented on SysOperation service class. Can it done for such SSRS Report as well? Much appreciated if one can share code example to do this.

Thanks!

You can most definitely enable Multi select, and generate multiple Reports (for multiple customers) with one click. The Reports get generated simultaneously (one after the other). So that isn't exactly "multi-threading", but very easy to develop and quite Standard in a way.

Talking about SysOperation, you can make a Batch Job to generate Reports periodically. There are already some Standard examples. Look at Sales Update >> invoice..

Here is an example of Multi threading www.artofcreation.be/.../batch-multithreading

You may additionally have to manage to make a Connection between the selected records, and the thread.

When it Comes to SSRS Reports, I guess PRint medium will be a big factor. As this runs in the Batch Server, you will have no Problem to save the Report as a file in a Network path (accessible by the Batch Job account from the server). You may on the other Hand, get into some Trouble if the print medium is Screen.
