Compatible? NAV 2016 with 2012 R2 DATACENTER-Server

Posted on by 195

Hello Microsoft and NAV Partners,

is NAV 2016 (full) compatible with the Windows Server 2012 R2 DATACENTER? If not, why?

(2012 R2 STANDARD is compatible --> msdn.microsoft.com/.../dd301054(v=nav.90).aspx)

    Thank you so much for your answers. Microsoft told me that the DATACENTER-compatibility is not fully tested. This is the reason why the Data Center Edition is not officially supported. Datacenter can work. Datacenter may work or may not work :-)

    Your experience has been a valuable hint. Thank you and continue to have fun and success in the NAV jungle :-)

    Best regards

    Holger

    I've got several instances of Nav 2016 on ws 2012r2, you can safely install it. If there's co-existance of both nav2015 and 2016, keep using servicetieradministration to manage nav instances!

    Hi Holger,

    Frankly i have not tested Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 on Windows Server 2012 R2 DATACENTER but i have an experience with NAV 2015 on Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter.

    Refer yourself here: msdn.microsoft.com/.../dd301054(v=nav.80).aspx

    But from the trend of upgrades it looks like 2016 should be compatible with the DATACENTER.

    and as suggested by [tag:Suresh], best way is to try it by yourself.

    Holger,

    I am not sure if anybody have an answer why it is not comptabile  other than Microsoft, as they will list the requirements by trying it out on different OS systems, sometimes even though it is not listed as the requirement/compatible the application does work. So you need to try to install it and verify that yourself.

    It does list as comptabile as an App for sharepoint
