Payroll in AX 2012 R3

Hi all,

Do we have any documentation or steps already present in AX where we can ease out the work for the Payroll team (Our team is not experienced in this area). The requirement that I am looking for is:

When we hire new people we send them (via email) few documents to be filled in. The payroll team takes the papers, fill the data manually in a paper/excel sheet. Prints the copies and all stuff of manual human work.

All I need is to have a web page where the candidate can go and punch in the data by himself so that we (company) don't make any error in entering their information. After the candidate enters the data in the webpage this then gets linked in AX and the data gets punched in without/very less human intervention.

1. Is it possible?

2. Is it something that we have OOB functionality in AX?

3. How can it be configured?

4. Any documentation or someone having this in live environment where they are currently using it please share.

    Hi D_Meethu,

If I read this thread then it does not sound like a payroll related issue but rather a general issue of how to approve new users working with the payroll module.

I am not aware that something alike exists and you will have to develop this on your own.

The only thing that comes close to what you describe are the signing limits in the orga. admin module that can be bound to a workflow and can be setup in a way to requie explicit prior signing limit approvals. Probably have a look at this functionality to get some ideas of how your adjustment can be made.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Ludwig,

So basically the team member of the Payroll collects the data from the new applicants, sit down and manually enter their record in a data.

I am hoping to create a webpage where the applicants fill out the information by themselves and then the record/data that the payroll team needs (or finance) needs will be recorded in the AX. Is there any documentation on this workflow that anyone using AX may have already worked on this.

We hire more than 1000 employee during the Christmas season and collecting the information manually is a big time pain - so we are moving to build  a webpage where applicants will fill their records by themselves.

But the next step i.e. how this can be integrated within AX?

    Hi D_Meethu,

I can't help you much with the development of your workflow because I am not a developer.

What you can do though is trying to find similar examples on AX blogs such as the following that hopefully give you some ideas how and where to start

    workflowax.wordpress.com

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../cc967429.aspx

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
