Providing Discounts at Quote & Contract in PSA

Hi Experts,

I need an advice on how provide discounts for "Fixed Price" projects in Quotes and Contracts in PSA. Following is my scenario.

We have Customer who has agreed for a Fixed Based Project. And Our "Sales Team" said that they would provide our customer with a flat 10% discount or a flat "$5000" discount which is known as "Sales Discount" on the quote created. And the quote was created using the "Fixed Price" quoteline with project plan and the quote was calculated using the project plan created. Now how can the "Sales Team" provide a sales discount on top of quote price calculated. What is the way to accomplish this requirement.

Hi,

You can put the discount fields on the quotation form and use it to apply discount. You wont have any issues if you do that with any version of PSA available so far. I cannot say about future versions though.

I would try the same and then see if custom discount fields on Quote Lines are needed.

Than you very much for your responses. Instead of creating a new field what we are planning is in the quote we are creating "Product-Based-Line" "write-in" product with negative value. Is this the right way to achieve it ?

I've never tried inserting a negative value. If it works throughout the process and Actuals are correctly created, then go for it. Test the end-to-end process and see if everything works.
