Hi All ,

AX 2012 R3

Could any one help that number sequence issue is abnormal .

License plate number sequence setup as non-continuous . The numbers were not used sequentially and jumps to different number .The issue is that number sequence skip numbers and skip number range is high .

For example - Assume that current LP number is 501 , when creating the LP , the next number should be 502 ,but system takes 707 . The LP number sequence is not used any other modules .

We are unsure that what might be cause of this issue ?

Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

Numbers from a non-continuous number sequence are used sequentially, but the number sequence may skip numbers. So obviously continuity is not guaranteed and its common.

Is it a shared number sequence or company specific?

I can only suggest debugging. Company specific and not continuous will just mean "next" is used and the increment is 1. You could try the manual clean up.

If this is the only Number sequence ensure you have no impacting customisations, because it is strange if that is the case, then you can also check LCS for any fixes in the areas depending upon your CU (Lots came in for WHS in CU8-10).

Thanks Weaversiki for the reply .

The license plate number sequence issue is not reproducible in other environments and exists in prod environment only . I'm afraid how to take it further analysis .

Create a brand new sequence. After that your only option is to get a developer to debug it.

Non-continuous number sequences can use a perf-improvement feature, called Preloading, where the AOS takes out a set of numbers when a number is requested, and then goes and uses those without needing to go back to the DB.

Check if maybe that's your case.

    Thanks Ivan ,

Could you guide me how to check the above setup what you have shared ?

That's just on the Number sequences form for that specific number sequence.
