I displayed the original SO and the credit SO's delivery addresses side-by-side below. If both SO's delivery addresses are the same, it should pick up the same tax code, correct? In this case, it did not. In the original SO, it hit 2.75% while the credit which is the SO with negative quantity, hit 3%. Where should I look? I did not see sales tax codes nor sales tax authorities in D365. Do sales tax codes live in Vertex or D365? Thanks so much!
In the Sales tax code, I did not see any rate in 365:
It appears the discrepancy is due to Vertex determining a different tax jurisdiction (Fulton County on the original SO vs. Clayton County on the Credit SO). I recommend verifying the address formatting on both orders, checking whether the delivery address/jurisdiction has changed since the original SO was created, and comparing the Vertex request/response logs for both transactions.
