AX 2012 EP deployment HTTP error 401 Unauthorized

Hi,

I successfully installed EP for AX2012 and it works perfectly fine. But I cannot deploy new web parts I have created, whatever I use:

- Visual Studio (Deploy solution)

- AxUpdatePortal.exe utility

- from AX client (Manage deployments)

- from development AX workspace (right-click on the web part and Deploy)

Every time I get HTTP error 401: Unauthorized. What's wrong?

Did anyone sort out what the issue was, because I'm also getting same error? I've designed my new EP user control in VS, the way existing Web controls e.g. form parts are, but when I access same page in EP, everytime I'm being asked userid/password, and when I give one, "401 Unauthorized" error is shown on the EP page. It has something to do with business connector or permission, but why it showing only in new control, where as existing ones are perfectly running?

Please guide.

Hi

I have the same issue except it is with publishing images to the CSS portal. Getting 401: unauthorised. I'm assuming a permissions issue but with what exactly? BCS proxy is setup correctly...

Does any one got the solution? I am facing the error while deploying control and page definition. Also can't do 'Import Page' from URL menu items.

Getting the same error on EP website/web application Deployment as well... Not sure what's wrong.

I am trying with the user having system administration role.

Hi Try to run the following commands to get more details about the deployment.

capture a log during axupdateportal command: ((Right-click, “Run as administrator”)

1. AxUpdatePortal -updateWebSites -iisreset -verbose > "C:\EPUpdate.log"

please share the log

2. The EP template is 2010? please check EP site is Team site using 2010 and not 2013

3. Some SH Farms are slow to perform the AXupdate portal. if you see timeout in your log add more time to the config to allow the update to complete:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\Setup\EPDeploymentService\web.config

Add this section after the runtime line at the bottom of the file

<system.web>

<httpRuntime maxRequestLength="2097151" executionTimeout="3600" />

</system.web>
