PSA Copied quote/salesorder keeps old owner

Hi,

in PSA, if User 1 copies a quote or a salesorder where User 2 is the owner, it gets created with User 2 as the owner as well.

If User 1's role is sufficient, he can then assign the record to himself. But if he only has rights to create and write own records (lowest level of access), then the copy fails with insufficient privileges error.

Is there a way to change this behaviour or is this maybe even unintended?

Hi Partner,

yes I think its intended behavior that if user 1 does not have permission for accessing User 2 record, it will fail while copying the record.

Hi Akash.. I was afraid that this is intended. Sadly it doesn't fit in our use case at all. Do you know of a way to change psa copy button behaviour?

Hi Partner

We would recommend not to change the behavior of OOB button instead you can create a new button as per your requirement.

If you make changes in OOB button there are high chances of getting it overwrite once the new patch is release of CRM and its deployed.
