What is the difference between an account and a company?

Posted on by 25

I understand that an account is a company. When I look into contacts it says "company" for the related account.

So why are there two terms and what is the difference: account and company?

    Hi partner,

I think you are right, the account should be the company, the company is like an abstract name, select the account through the company name field. An account can be associated with multiple contacts.

Thanks Leco Lv, but I do not understand how this answers my questions.

Is account meant as a customer account, not actually a company?

Can an account consist of more than one company?

    Hi partner,

It seems to be more inclined to what the relationship between them is.
