EFT NACHA file layout that includes vendor address, city, state and zip code

Posted on by 75,730

Does anyone know which NACHA file format includes the vendor address, city, state and zip code? I was just sent the file specifications from PNC bank for a client who will have PNC mail checks to their vendors.

    Hi Richard,

You can start a new format using the 'user defined' or tweak one of our formats, either way is fine.  It's just helpful to refer to one of the default formats for how to map some of the fields, so you don't have to reinvent the wheel.

Cheryl, I see what you are saying. This client has opted to have the bank mail checks to the vendors. The layout from the bank includes headers, details and trailers. Instead of modifying any existing format I will simply start with User-Defined and follow their layout.

    Hello Richard,

The NACHA formats provided out of the box in Dynamics GP are for the standard format for an electronic payment, so they do not include the Payee's address information.   There are no formats for 'check printing' services included in Dynamics GP.  However, you can try to make your own and see if you can achieve all the fields that you need.  You can start from scratch using a 'user defined' format in Dynamics GP and try to map it to your bank's requirements.  Many use the 'detail' or 'addenda' line only when mapping the fields, and you can refer to one of the default formats for most of the other fields.  The PM Vendor master file and PM Vendor address master tables are available to select the address information from.  You may have to play around a bit and refer to the other formats.  Just keep in mind, that depending on your bank specs, not all formats may be achievable, but you will only know by testing.

    Hope that helps,
